Behind the scenes

Being one of the few shelters on road G104, the protection site is responsible for the host of tourists from worldwide, the daily care of rescured animals, and as the starting base for anti-poaching patrol.

Our volunteering work starts every summer during the busy season and when the weather is habitable. The work at the protection site is based on the daily needs, hence miscellaneous.

Our volunteers are jointed from different universities in China, working as exhibition touring guides, animal caretakers, garbage collectors, chefs, and technicians, reducing workload from staffs while extending our expertise in real life.

Important Note

One needs to be granted by Hoh Xil Authority to conduct volunteering work in Hoh Xil, as the plateau environment is brittle and its high altitude is dangerous for the under-prepared and worse it could be fatal.
